Reaction to the Award nomination

The nomination for Technology 4 Good award is a success in itself.  9 months after going live, we have managed to gain unforeseen recognition. Each and every person connected to the project deserves a big pat in the back for their efforts.  Can we go one step further?  That would be a dream come true but in reality that is not our goal.  The other nominees have also been achieving great gains.  We have been attempting to change communties, perceptions and opinions and that is what matters.

We have a long way to go though.  Hopefully we can build on this tremendous success but we need to keep going.  I believe this can be achieved by branching out.  By venturing into different technological avenues whether that be podcasting, twitter or even a video channel.  By extending our outreach, expanding our boundaries.  By increasing our workforce and varying our personnel.  This can give us a fresh insight and get different people attracted to our project.  With this attempt to branch out we can make important connections, important contacts.  We can also make specific genres within our output.  Spread out our message through different avenues.  The possibilities are endless.

Lets hope we can be allowed to flourish.  The potential is there, let us reach it.

I have developed as a writer and journalist if you will.  This award nomination is vindication of this.  This isn’t about me though, it’s about the team.  The team have been magnificent and I can safely say I have worked with brilliant people but also talented people.  New recruits will quickly bond with the team and hopefully we can raise spirits and morale with a win.  However as I have said, our focus is on promoting positive mental health stories and trying to tackle stigma.  This is what’s important.
